We organize 5 English programs for our incoming exchange students. Although they are in English, also our regular students can participate. Besides the English programs you can study various subjects at our 6 departments.

The deadlines to apply for any of these programs are:

  • for the autumn semester 2012-2013: check the application forms.

To apply you need to fill in the application form.

1. International Business Course

The Department of Commercial Sciences and Business Management organizes a one-year International Business Course. It is divided in two semesters and you can choose for a semester or a one year course.

Each of the two semesters will start with an introductory course to the Dutch language and Belgian Culture and Economy and an English course.
In addition to these compulsory courses students get to choose from a list of courses on different aspects of business management.
While during the first semester the focus is on Finance & Insurance, the courses of the second semester concentrate on Logistics Management.

2. Communication & Management for Engineers

Our Department of Industrial Sciences and Technology is organizing for the 6th time the Communication & Management Course for Engineers for incoming Erasmus students.

This course is taught in English by lecturers from the Karel de Grote-University College as well as guest lecturers from our partner institutes in Europe.
 
The course starts on Monday, 30th of January 2012 and ends 15th of June 2012.

Courses & credits

All of the courses, that cover various aspects of Communication and Management, are compulsory.

Fees
There are no entrance or examination fees, but a financial contribution of €150 will be asked to cover the costs of the excursions. 
 
Application
Applications are to be submitted before 15 November 2011, together with a Curriculum Vitae, Motivation, Transcript of Records and Learning Agreement. After receiving the Application Form, an information package will be sent regarding accommodation, etc.

3. International Class

Interactum organizes a tree-month Teacher Education Program that is designed to make international and Belgian students that are being trained to become teachers interact and discuss educational themes.

The course will start with a few introductory classes for the international students on the Dutch language. The remaining classes are in English and will focus on various educational themes.

In 2011-2012 the International Class will be organized in Leuven.

4. CarEcology

The Department of Industrial Sciences and Technology offers a regular Master in Automotive Engineering (also known as ‘CarEcology’).

This 60-credit course is divided into six modules that cover the core aspects of the discipline.
Students will learn about the latest developments and trends but will also be given the opportunity to come forward with innovative ideas of their own.
Furthermore, the students will have to prove that they master the necessary skills  by writing an individual research thesis.

5. (Bio)Chemical Engineering Projects

The Master in Chemistry and Biochemistry (Department of Industrial Sciences and Technology) offers exchange students the opportunity to actively participate in various research projects. From October 2012 onwards, bachelor students will be able to cooperate with students of ours that are working on their bachelor papers. Master students are allowed to individually work on a project of their own.

There is a wide range of subjects to choose from. These subjects focus on aspects within the fields of chemical engineering (bio fuels, bio waste, renewable energy, new raw materials, calorimetry) or biochemical engineering (waste water engineering, ecotoxicology, white biotechnology, industrial fermentation technology).

To be allowed to enroll, students must have completed the first two years of a training at a tertiary-level institution.
