European Student Network Antwerp

European Students Network Antwerp

ESN.org ( Erasmus Student Network ) is the official European organisation that tries to bring a structure in all local initiatives around the European Exchange Program called Erasmus. ESN Antwerp is a local division of the Erasmus Student Network and works more or less like a student club as we know it in Belgium. Our club welcomes all Erasmus-students ànd other foreign students to Antwerp. We try to get you settled, helping you out with whatever practical problem you may encounter. Apart from that, we try to learn you more about student life as we know it here in Belgium, with all its rich traditions.

Studying Politics?
ministerengkl.bmp

On the occasion of Student Day, deBuren is organising a political job fair in collaboration with Vacature. Job fairs are gaining in importance as a way of bringing employers and students closer together. These days, even the government is compelled to organise job fairs for vacancies that fail to attract a sufficient number of applicants. Political parties are sounding the same alarm bell: too few young people seem to be responding to the call of politics.

Prominent Flemish, Dutch and European politicians are invited to share their experiences with Flemish and Dutch students in Brussels, some of them participants in the Erasmus programme. The students will have the opportunity to get first-hand information about political careers. Diplomatic staff and personnel of European institutions will come and talk about which choices led them to take up a political and/or European career. Only students will be admitted to the job fair. They can book a 10-minute talk with the guests, such as the ministers Inge Vervotte, Bert Anciaux, Geert Bourgeois, Yves Leterme, Kris Peeters or Pascal Smet, on which other students can listen in.
