Language requirements for a bachelor's degree in English

Many on-site language tests around the world are currently delayed or cancelled due to coronavirus measures. This includes our own on-campus KdG test. Please check our COVID-19 FAQs for updates on online alternatives.

The programme is taught in English and students must have CEFR level B2 English to play an active role in the course.

You need to meet one of the following language requirements:

  • You are a native English speaker. You have studied in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand or one of Canada’s English-speaking provinces and there have obtained a high school diploma with at least four years schooling or completed two years and passed 50% of your courses at higher education.

  • You are a semi-native English speaker. You have studied at a high school or university where English is the language of instruction and there you have completed four years or more of full-time secondary education or completed two years and passed 50% of your courses at higher education. You will need to pass a Skype language test which includes a written task.

  • You have achieved a score of six or higher in your International Baccalaureate Diploma for English A or English B.

  • Achieved one of the following English-language certificates: Duolingo English testIELTS 6.0 or TOEFL-iBT 87 or ITACE B2 or Cambridge English Qualifications. Please note that minimum sub scores may apply. If you are planning to take the TOEFL test, you can use our code B712 to speed up the process. Likewise for the Duolingo English test,  you have the option to select KdG as an institute once you complete your test.

  • Achieved B2 level or higher in KdG’s on-site language test. This takes place at KdG in Antwerp.

  • You have previously earned a KdG proof of course credit for English B2 or higher.
