The Centre of Expertise on Sustainable Chemistry specialises in research and services related to sustainable chemicals and production processes. It focuses on the valorisation of (preferably renewable) residual and secondary feedstocks and on environmentally friendly – greener – chemical processes.

What we do?
Research Projects
Our starting-points are project-related questions coming from our industrial partners:
- Synthesis of sustainable chemicals
- Valorisation of side streams (giving waste a second life)
- Optimization of existing chemical reactions and making chemical processes ‘greener’
- Designing new (green) analytical techniques and optimization of existing techniques
Herein, we always focus on applied research.
Services in the field of:
- Characterisation of side streams
- Extraction of high-value components from side streams (e.g. through ASE – accelerated solvent extraction)
- Chemical analysis (HPLC, GPC, GC-FID, GC-MS, FTIR, AAS, XRF, NMR)
