Did your car break down? Give broken parts a second life

When your car breaks down because a part is broken, your garage replaces it with a new part. Easy, right? Or is it? These days, parts are smarter and more expensive than ever. In the old days, mechanics used to repair the broken part by replacing small inner parts with new ones. They then tested the part and if everything worked as it should, the part was reinstalled in the car. However, these days, this is out of the question because car parts have simply become too technological. Just think of the cruise control, anti-slip regulation system, and automatic gearbox in your car, as well as the different types of fuel systems.

Expensive, with a huge environmental impact

Often garages are no longer able carry out the repairs or the testing, resulting in eye-wateringly expensive repairs, in addition to a huge environmental impact. Our Sustainable Industries Research Centre is currently working on a solution. CremAN's technology allows garages to repair broken parts and test them before the car hits the road again.
