Carolien Vermeiren

In 2004, Carolien graduated as an industrial engineer in Biochemistry from the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Hoboken. Until the end of 2021, she was working at Sioen Chemicals as lab manager. In 2022, she transferred to the Sustainable Industry Research Centre as a researcher. Besides services, Carolien mainly works on the valorisation projects of the waste streams from water purification namely Bioglue and VIVID. Carolien teaches the courses ‘chemical calculation skills’ and ‘lab techniques’ in the 1st year professional bachelor biomedical laboratory technology.
