Bio
Siska is a trained psycholinguist and obtained her PhD in 2006 with a dissertation about simultaneous second language acquisition in youngsters. Since 2011, she has worked at the Karel de Grote University of Applies Sciences and Arts as a practice-based researcher in the Research Centre Pedagogy in Practice and as a lecturer in the Early Childhood Education program. Since 2023, Siska has chaired the Belgian committee of the NGO OMEP. At the research center, she combines action research, experiential research with children, and design research in national and international collaborations. She immersed herself in the topics: pedagogical documentation as a research method, children in reception centres, migration, children's rights, intercultural dynamics, sustainability and language stimulation.
