Study program
- You’ll translate the abstract concept of sustainability into business models that combine people, planet, and profit.
- Fast fashion, e-waste, deforestation, as well as service design thinking, new technologies, or fair labor practices: you'll gain a comprehensive overview of sustainability and innovation themes across various sectors.
- You’ll guide organizations toward a future-proof business culture, training skills like listening, facilitating, and motivating.
- You’ll support change processes with scientific sources, data analysis, hypotheses, and visions.
- Personal growth, authentic leadership, and the psychology of change are central themes throughout the program.
- Classes are taught in English, with a strong focus on intercultural collaboration.
Sustainable business & economics
(6 credits)
You will learn how sustainability shapes the business world:
- You will work with sustainability frameworks such as the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the 3Ps (People, Planet, Profit), and the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).
- You will examine sustainability from a historical perspective and within the geopolitical context of a globalized world.
- You will explore new economic models, including the circular economy, regenerative economy, and social entrepreneurship.
Business strategy
(3 credits)
You will actively contribute to business models that prioritize sustainability:
- You will set priorities within an organization using strategic models.
- You will map out the company’s ecosystem, including departments, customers, and other stakeholders.
- You will develop a step-by-step plan and learn that achieving goals is an iterative process.
- You will take on the role of a consultant or ambassador.
Innovation management
(3 credits)
You will work towards a future-proof corporate culture, where sustainability values and commitments translate into structural actions:
- You will find solutions to achieve both economic and sustainability goals.
- You will engage in entrepreneurship in the broadest sense, from idea generation to implementation.
- You will follow technological trends and learn from both successes and failures.
- You will familiarize yourself with iterative techniques (such as trial & error, product & service design thinking, and co-creation).
Data analytics
(3 credits)
You will respond to current developments:
- You will become a critical reader of all kinds of information related to sustainability and innovation.
- You will collect, analyze, and validate data.
- You will translate data and insights into strategies and actions.
- You will report on sustainability parameters.
- You will familiarize yourself with digital tools, including AI applications.
Change management
(3 credits)
You will receive training in change management with a focus on sustainability:
- You will gain insights into the psychology of change, project and time management, and group dynamics.
- You will formulate goals based on an analysis of corporate culture and business operations.
- You will collaborate with various company departments and their external partners.
- You will practice active listening with an open mind to different perspectives and integrate these insights into a shared objective.
- You will develop skills to guide change processes step by step.
Personal impact lab
(3 credits)
You will have the space to grow both personally and professionally, focusing on:
- Self-reflection (values, beliefs, emotions, etc.)
- Critical thinking
- Resilience
- Empathy
- A deeper understanding of yourself and the world
- Intercultural collaboration
- Social responsibility
- Authentic leadership
Business cases
(9 credits)
You will work individually and in groups on business cases covering various sustainability themes across different sectors:
- You will visit companies in diverse industries to gain real-world insights.
- At the end of your studies, you will demonstrate your learning through a complex case: How will you contribute to a future-proof corporate culture?

Admission requirements
- You already hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent through experience).
Practical information
- This micro-credential consists of a fixed package of 30 credits.
- You can study full-time for six months, starting in September or February.
- Alternatively, you can spread your studies over one year—contact kristien.govers@kdg.be for a customized program.
- The next start date is February 3rd , 2025.
- Classes are held at the Groenplaats campus, Nationalestraat 5, 2000 Antwerp.
Your campus
- Study at our Groenplaats campus in the heart of Antwerp, overlooking the the main square and cathedral, and near the Meir shopping street.
- Lectures are held at the Faculty of Management & IT. Study in the library, get together for group work in The View, or relax in the cafeteria.
- Excellent bus and tram links make getting around easy. Antwerpen-Centraal station is close by, connecting you to Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, and London.
