Where do students live in Antwerp?

Most KdG students rent a student room (called a 'kot'). These are private rooms in shared buildings, often with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Some students prefer private studios or apartments.

Monthly cost of student housing

  • Student room: 400-550 euros
  • Studio with private facilities: 500-675 euros
  • Apartment: 650-800 euros
  • These average prices exclude costs for water, gas, electricity and the internet. Budget around 40 euros per month, depending on the contract you have.

All student housing is listed on Kotweb, the official housing platform in Antwerp. All contracts follow the student rental code.

When to start looking for accommodation?

  • Start looking 3-4 months before arrival.
  • Search for accommodation as soon as you receive your (conditional) letter of enrolment.
  • Most rooms become available in May, June and July.
