What does this course contain?

Course in brief

Become a creative matchmaker between the world of Tech and Business. Learn how to tactically use digital technology in a start-up / scale-up context. You'll be a valuable profile for today's digital creative industry.

First Year

  • See what it takes to become a digital nomad - use technology to your advantage so that you can work from anywhere in the world.
  • Take your first steps getting creative with digital technologies.
  • Learn webcodinggraphic design and storytelling as part of your introduction to visual media.
  • Focus on digital marketing and build an interactive website using HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Second Year

  • Focus on concept development and strategy. Learn how to bring groundbreaking new concepts to market.
  • Create digital 3D content with a clear focus on the experience of the end users. Bring a model to life!
  • Use Future Design Thinking to understand what it takes to be an entrepreneur.
  • Collaborate on a project with students from other universities and visit local companies and organisations to learn about the latest digital solutions.

Third Year

  • In the innovation challenge everything you’ve learned so far is combined in one exciting project. You'll also get exposure to business financials and international career perspectives.
  • Take full advantage of on-the-job experience with a dedicated 3 month internship that suits your ambition.
  • Choose to exchange and go abroad for a whole new adventure. Or apply for student entrepreneur status at our in-house Entrepreneurship centre.
  • Complete the programme by going one step further. Teaching becomes coaching as you take full control in your bachelor project. Showcase all your skills and creativity and pitch in front of a professional panel.

You’ll practice the fundamentals of photo editing and vector drawing, with a strong focus on creating functional artifacts like a vector logo and a professional interface - always justifying your design choices with professional arguments.

3D Modeling

Take your first step into spatial creation. You’ll learn to sculpt, focusing on low-poly modeling to keep objects clean and functional. You’ll move beyond simple shapes to master the entire presentation - combining modeling, lighting, shading, and rendering techniques to create your own unique virtual scene.

Building on your C# fundamentals, this course focuses on the practical application of code within embedded systems and hardware projects. You’ll learn how to write software that enables you to communicate with and control connected hardware.

3D Development

Create interactive, virtual environments by introducing the basic jargon and principles of 2D/3D development. Your practical objective is clear: build a basic interactive real-time application for Windows using a game engine, mastering elements like scripting, physics, lighting, and UI.

Audio/Video Media Production

Gain mastery over the production studio. Learn the technical specifics of video signals (SD, HD, UHD, HDR) and camera/microphone operation, enabling you to select the right equipment to realize a simple but finished audiovisual product. The assignment uses specialized, high-end equipment provided by the school.

Storytelling basics

Explore what makes a story worth remembering, study strategic frameworks for brand storytelling (like the StoryBrand seven-step framework), and develop vital skills in copywriting and, critically, how to prepare and practice a pitch.

Visual communication

If you want to broaden your outlook, you can choose to spend your first semester at a European university or one further afield. If you opt for this exchange programme, it will replace the courses of the first semester.

What does your schedule look like?

  • The Welcoming days are 18 and 19 September 2025 and attendance of these is essential.
  • Your classes will then start from Monday, 22 September 2025.
  • You commit to a fulltime study program over three years. This means that you are advised to allocate up to 40 hours per week to your study, of which approx. 18-20 hours are classes.
  • Normally you can expect 1 to 1.5 day per week free which allows you to work on group projects with your colleagues.
  • Each week is varied combining a mix of lectures, seminars, team assignments and self-study.

We emphasise the importance of being on campus together with your colleagues. Here, you can take advantage of the technology provided and get the hands-on experience and collaborative experience demanded by the Multimedia sector.

FabLab

Short for Fabrication Lab. A space where you can experiment, innovate and share knowledge. Here, Multimedia & Creative Technologies students swap ideas with students from automotive technology, biomedical laboratory technology, business management, teacher training and art school.

You name it, you’ll find it – audiovisual equipment, input devices, 3D scanners and printers, laser cutters, electronics instruments, computers with design software and hand tools to materials such as plastics, cork, sensors and actuators…

Over the past 3 years, I've gotten hands-on with all sorts of industry-standard software, from video editing with Premiere Pro to building real website prototypes in Figma. The Business strategy classes which helped me see how different skills work together on a project. This whole experience helped me figure out what I'm good at and what I need to work on more.

Requirements

  • This course is taught in EnglishGood proficiency in English is required.
  • You hold a secondary education certificate that grants access to a comparable higher education degree programme in the country it was granted.
  • No interview or additional tests are required for admission to KdG.
  • There is currently no restriction on the number of places
  • Our programme requires curiosity, a strong will to use all of your talents, a readiness to explore, to learn and to perform in an international team.

Laptop requirements

Our campuses are equipped with the latest technology so all you need is your own laptop that meets these specifications:

  • Screen diagonal: minimum 15"
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD A10
  • Internal RAM memory: minimum 16GB
  • Storage capacity: minimum 256 GB (of which 128 GB SSD or flash)
  • Graphics card: dedicated Nvidia
  • MAC or PC both suitable

Count on a maximum of €75 of software per year. As a KdG student, you get a discount on software from Adobe, Academic Download, Academic Box and Academic Computing.

Multimedia & Creative Technologies is all about getting you ready for your career.

  • You will be ready to deliver creative solutions for organisations.
  • Possible careers include digital strategist, innovation manager, growth hacker, digital transformer, creative technologist, interaction designer, digital product designer and project manager.
  • Entrepreneurial? From your bachelor project, you will know how to bring an idea to market in a digital context. So either help drive innovation within an organisation, or launch your own start-up with guidance from KdG's Entrepreneur's Centre.
  • You can take your studies further with a master’s degree in digital business, media management, digital design, design thinking, creative technologies, or visual arts. To do this, a transition programme will be required.

Whatever you choose, you’ll have the skills to forge your own career path and make a difference. With an international degree, you can do this anywhere in the world.

Additional programme-specific costs

The main programme-related costs are:

  • Upon registration, you must pay a lump sum of 2 euros per credit – 120 euros per academic year for the full 60 credits. The lump sum includes the following costs: basic user material; maintenance and management of shared technological material and infrastructure (both software and hardware).
  • 90 euros per year for an Adobe Creative Cloud account
  • You must bring your own laptop that meets the required specifications (see above)
